Food and Nutrition Services brings learning to life with their annual Pumpkin Patch! Students enjoy a fun, interactive presentation about pumpkins, exploring their origins, nutritional benefits, vitamins and minerals, and the age-old question: Is a pumpkin a fruit or a vegetable?
After learning something new, students head into the patch to choose their very own pumpkin! Each class captures the experience with a group photo, while teachers receive a larger carving pumpkin, decorative corn, and an activity packet filled with fun, educational activities to bring the pumpkin patch experience back to the classroom. It’s a festive way to combine nutrition education, hands-on learning, and fall fun!
