School Description

Alcott is an exemplary TK-6 grade school setting with two campuses. Teachers set high academic, behavioral, social, and attendance expectations to help students continue to grow and to become well-rounded citizens in the 21st century. Rigorous instruction is adapted according to district and site based testing and is built to suit the needs of all learners. In particular, students that are part of our EL population receive explicit language instruction through Systematic ELD and the school employs methods to ensure EL’s have full access to the core curriculum. We continue with the Response to Intervention program that has improved student performance on multiple forms of assessment. Staff provides a safe and nurturing environment for all students and model problem solving activities to reduce behavior problems and increase tolerance. We set high behavioral expectations for students that are reinforced through our PBIS program.
